Founded in 1949, Yellow River is an academic journal in water conservancy science and technology, governed by the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by the Yellow River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources. It is one of the earliest established scientific journals in China's water conservancy industry.
Aims & Scope
The journal aims to disseminate scientific and technological achievements in Yellow River governance, promote academic discussion, and support scientific management of the river. It mainly publishes the latest research results, academic reviews and trends in the field of water conservancy. The main columns of the journal include ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, flood control and river management, hydrology and sediment, water resources, water environment and water ecology, engineering survey and design, engineering construction management, soil and water conservation, water-saving irrigation, water conservancy information technology, etc.

Yellow River has been selected as a Chinese Core Journal, a Key Magazine of China Technology, and a Source Journal for the World Journal Clout Index (WJCI) 2023 Report. Journal History
The journal was originally founded in 1949 under the name New Yellow River. In 1956, it was renamed Yellow River Construction, but was subsequently suspended several times. In 1979, the journal was relaunched and adopted its current name, Yellow River.
